Energy Generation Flooring
Medium: Pavegen
Focusing on ESG initiatives, I implemented Pavegen’s kinetic energy technology in the PwC office to support their goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. Pavegen converts kinetic energy into electricity, which can be used to power anything from lighting to vehicles, offering a sustainable energy solution.

Grounding Influence
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Size: 38” x 30”
This abstract painting is a personal representation of my experience with Islam. Using vibrant oil colors and expressive brushstrokes, I aimed to showcase the beauty and grounding influence that Islam holds in my life. This piece is also a way for me to challenge the misconception of Islam as an oppressive religion, highlighting its true essence as a source of peace and spiritual comfort. Through the interplay of colors and textures, I invite viewers to explore the diversity and depth of this faith beyond stereotypes, encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of its spiritual significance.

Bismillah
Medium: 3D Printed PLA, Plexiglass, Superglue
Size: 30” x 30”
Inspired by the sacred opening, "Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim," in the Holy Quran, this sculpture seeks to embody the profound essence of this divine invocation. Uttering these words imparts a deep sense of peace and comfort, a reminder that all is under the benevolent guidance of God. The interplay of light and shadows within the piece adds a captivating depth, extending its impact beyond the physical form. Much like the nobility inherent in the sacred phrase, the sculpture transcends the material, reflecting the cleansing and soothing effect it has on our souls. The meticulous 3D printing process involved the development of CAD and G-code at various scales, ensuring a successful manifestation of the intricate details. The result is not just a physical representation but a visual and emotional journey, inviting observers to experience the profound beauty and serenity embedded in this powerful praise.

An architectural haven for birds, inspired by the elegance of Indo-Islamic architecture. This three-story bird hotel merges intricate arches, domes, and geometric patterns to create a sanctuary where cultural heritage meets natural functionality. Designed with thoughtful elements like elliptical entrances and layered spaces, it’s crafted to provide comfort, protection, and beauty, offering a peaceful retreat for its feathered guests in a structure that echoes history and artistry.

Anemone
Medium: Cyanotype, Digital, Posca, Acrylic
Size: 28” x 14”
An anemone, dwelling in the ocean, holds a poisonous venom, except to clownfish, sheltered by a protective layer enabling them to coexist within the anemone. Employing the Cyanotype photography technique, I captured my portrait, later enhanced with digital art and posca pens. This artwork is my personal anemone, embodying the inner workings of my mind and the concealed intricacies that manifest when I express myself. It serves as a metaphor for my student journey, navigating multiple responsibilities while finding equilibrium and serenity through my faith.

Last Minute Prayer
Medium: Color pencil on Ivory Paper
Size: 23”x 18”
In Islam, the belief in the Day of Judgment resonates as a pivotal tenet, marking a day when humanity's actions, both virtuous and sinful, will be subjected to divine scrutiny. This color pencil drawing focuses on a significant sign preceding this event - the disappearance of the words from the holy Quran. It portrays a scene of individual seeking repentance and forgiveness as they face the impending culmination of their deeds. The glass bottle is another symbol representing the normalization of alcohol. Inside the bottle hangs a necklace, one which has the ayat al kursi, the most important verse in the holy quran. The writing on the book is taken from Surah Al-Zalzalah which speaks about the day of judgement. The composition itself is a carefully layered amalgamation of mesh, fabrics, and a distinct fabric from Pakistan, generously imparted to me by my mother.

Martyr
Medium: Modroc, Wire, Gold Leaf, Acrylic, Glue, Kafan (Shroud), Wood, Nails
Size: 74”x 36” x 48”
Death, often perceived negatively, takes on a different meaning in Islam, where individuals known as Shahid or Martyrs are revered for their selfless acts in the name of Allah (God). This can encompass various acts, from simple acts of kindness to the ultimate sacrifice. Elevated to the seventh heaven on the Day of Judgment, their ultimate reward awaits, transcending earthly deeds and sins. For this sculpture, the Kafan material sourced from the graveyard where my grandmother and brother are buried, adds a profound layer of symbolism, underscoring the sanctity and equality of all lives in both the earthly realm and the hereafter. Reflecting the solemn Islamic practice of preparing the deceased, this sculpture embodies the spiritual journey of a Shahid, symbolizing the profound gift and honor associated with passing away in the name of faith.

Apostasy
Medium: Wire, Modroc, Clay, Foam, Plastidip Size: 18” x 12” x 13”
Inspired by Vladimir tatlin's monument to the 3rd international, I wanted to create a sculpture which represented the decay of religion specifically, islam. The meticulously crafted foundation, meticulously constructed from wire, modroc, and clay, symbolizes the enduring resilience of Islamic principles, steadfast and unwavering even amidst the gradual decay of societal values and beliefs. I used one of the most important Ayats or sentences in the Holy Quran, Ayat al Kursi. And hand cut each word and letter on a thin foam board and placed it between the organic openings of the sculpture. The feature of decay was carefully chosen from the medium of plastidip, visually illustrating the transformative effects of time on the perception and practice of religious devotion.

Lullaby
Medium: 3D Printed, Acrylic, Super Glue, LED Light
Size: 17” x 34”
Exploring the diverse perceptions of movement, I used a fusion of light, sound, and color to present viewers with a moment of tranquility. The cold, blue ambiance, and carefully hand-painted geometric shapes, add depth to the piece, while the lights are meticulously coded to ascend and descend, infusing dynamic energy. The audio embedded within the piece resonates with a profound personal touch — it is my mother's voice, singing the Urdu lullaby that cradled me through my upbringing. This auditory element brings tranquillity and serves both as a nostalgic melody and as a poignant reminder of the intimate connection between art and personal history. The marriage of technology and art symbolizes innovation and transcending conventional boundaries. The intricate design was conceptualized with CAD software and brought to life on a large scale using 3D printing.

Toolbox
Medium: Graphite on Sketch paper Size: 17” x 24”
This graphite artwork represents the creative chaos of my workspace, where inspiration takes flight amid a collection of personal items. At its heart is my cherished record player, a gift from my mother, which fills the space with the melodies of Fleetwood Mac during math sessions and the ‘Interstellar’ soundtrack when assembling Lego models. Each element, from my prayer beads to the trusted TI Inspire calculator, plays a role in the mosaic of my creative process, illustrating how scattered objects can harmonize into the birthplace of my best ideas.

Iqra - أقرأ
Medium:Digital Typography Piece
Size: 48” x 36”
Growing up as an Emirati girl in an English-speaking school, I faced challenges within the education system that left me feeling isolated and misunderstood. Placed in advanced Arabic-speaking classes despite my limited understanding of the language, I endured years of judgment and criticism from my peers. The resulting anxiety made simply entering the classroom a suffocating experience. This artwork reflects the weight of that judgment, with the central word, اقرأ (Iqra), meaning 'read,' symbolizing the pressure to measure up to societal expectations. The background images are actual photographs from the classrooms where I struggled. They serve as a tangible reminder of the spaces where I faced my fears and struggled to find my place. While the central subject is a representation of myself, encapsulating the personal nature of this narrative.
